Barrel Blacking and Browning

We carry out hot water barrel blacking and Damascus browning on the premises. An age old art that is mastered at this level by only a handful of firms in the guntrade. That's why many gunsmiths and gunmakers in the trade rely on us to black their barrels the old fashioned way. Using a traditional recipe and time honoured methods that allows us to black barrels to a very high gloss standard. This form of blacking is suitable for ALL makes of gun barrels and especially for barrels with soft soldered ribs.

This slow blacking proces takes up to one week for a reblack and up to two weeks for new barrels.

For our customers having their gun restored with us or gunmakers sending their barrels in to blacked we are happy to cater for both trade and public.

Damascus barrel browning for for the vintage hammer, box lock or indeed side lock gun is also carried out on the premises.
